Dry Skin:

I understand that dry skin is a common concern for many people, including myself. It can make the skin feel rough, itchy, and flaky, which can accentuate the appearance of lines and wrinkles. There can be various reasons for dry skin, some of which may be internal, while others may be external.

Internal Factors:

.Stress

.Poor diet

.Medical treatment (taking certain medications)

.Aging

.Diseases

.People with skin conditions such as (Eczema, Psoriasis, Atopic dermatitis, and Rosacea …)

External Factors:

-Environmental factors (Intense Sunlight, cold or dry weather…).

-Harsh products can negatively impact your skin.

-Product overuse can lead to dryness, redness, breakouts, and dermatitis. Remember, Less is more!

-Washing your face too frequently, and not having a proper skincare routine.

-Smoking is a major source of skin dryness.

-Long hot showers can contribute to skin dehydration.

-Hard water can prevent moisturizers from absorbing.

-Over-exfoliation can turn your skin dry and flaky.

Today, I will share with you my skincare routine that helped me restore my dry skin. excited!

I, like many others, desired clear and radiant skin, leading me to purchase products promoted on social media. I cannot say whether this was a wise or unwise decision.

I tend to buy products that have positive reviews on social media. However, not all products worked for my skin type and some even make it worse. On the other hand, some products have helped me deal with my skin concerns. It is advisable to avoid using too many products as it might make it harder for your skin to function properly, which could lead to more problems, as Dr. Harris-Tryon suggested.

Taking care of my skin is an essential part of my daily routine. Having a consistent skincare routine helps me prevent common skin issues. Studying Esthiology provided me with the knowledge to understand my skin’s needs better.

-Here is my nighttime skincare routine:

-0il Cleansing Method:

“It was a great decision to add an oil cleanser to my skincare routine. Using it in the evening as the first step in a double-cleanse routine has given me the ability to easily remove dirt, impurities, makeup, and sunscreen without stripping or weighing down my skin. This makes it an excellent option for my dry skin.”

-Cream Cleanser:

“If you have dry, sensitive skin like mine, it’s best to choose a gentle, unscented cream cleanser that contains hyaluronic acid. This ingredient is one of my favorites for skin care and is ideal for those with dry and sensitive skin. According to Dr. Howard Sobel, cream cleansers are gentler and more hydrating than other cleansers, making them a great choice for people with dry or sensitive skin.”

-Toner:

Toner helps balance the skin’s pH, preventing dryness and dehydration and preparing the skin for subsequent products.

-Hyaluronic Acid Serum:

Face serums are typically used to target particular skin concerns, as they contain highly concentrated formulas perfect for preventing issues such as dark spots, wrinkles, and dehydration. As I mentioned earlier, Hyaluronic acid is one of my favorite ingredients for skin. It helps replenish and retain cell moisture, resulting in hydrated, smooth, and plump skin.

-Eye Cream:

The skin under our eyes is fragile and does not have any sebaceous glands to produce natural oils. Therefore, it is crucial to keep this area moisturized and shielded from harm at all times. When selecting an eye cream, aim for a product that contains Hyaluronic acid or Caffeine and avoid any harsh ingredients as this area is ultra-sensitive.

-Hydrate My Lips:

The skin of your lips, also known as vermilion, is 100 times more sensitive than your fingertips. Due to the absence of oil glands, lips tend to become dry and chapped easily. Therefore, it’s important to exfoliate your lips once a week to get rid of dry and dead skin and then moisturize them. Additionally, it’s crucial to keep your lips hydrated and ensure that your daytime lip product has an SPF of 15 or higher to protect them from the sun’s harmful rays.

-Moisturizing:

This is one of the most important and basic steps to good skincare, and it happens to be my favorite. I always keep my moisturizer with me, wherever I go, so that I can apply and reapply it on my skin as needed. Daily moisturizing helps maintain well-hydrated skin and prevents dryness, flaking, and cracking. To get the best results, it is important to choose the right product that has the necessary ingredients that will benefit your skin.
